Connect for Women

Connecting women to God, each other and the church

Connecting women to God

Connect is a group for women who want to learn what it is to be a Christian and to keep growing in our experience and understanding of the Christian faith.  This means learning to understand God’s word together, learning how to pray and growing in our relationship with God, in a safe and supportive environment, recognising that we are all in different places in our relationship with God.

Connecting Women to each other

Connect is about making and growing friendships, supporting each other in the ups and downs of life and inviting others to join us – especially those on the fringes or who are new to faith.

Connecting Women to Church

Church is not just for Sundays.  For some members of the group Connect may be their first or only experience of church.  For others it is a stepping stone to and from other aspects of church life.  Women of no faith, or who are curious about exploring faith with no pressure or expectations are very welcome to join us.

When: Wednesday evenings during term time @7pm

Where: St Nicholas Church building.

If you would like to know more, please contact the church office or speak to Verity Murray or Shirley Busby

Programme for Term 4 2017

Connect kicked off the new term with a social evening where we put together gift boxes for the charity Samaritan’s Purse.  Between us we put together 13 boxes, meaning thirteen young people will be blessed this Christmastime.

On 18th October we began a new 5-week bible study series, entitled ‘Works and Witness’ helping us to explore how we can share the light and love of Jesus in our communities.

On November 15th we are co-hosting a special prayer night with the men's group.  This time we are inviting members of the other local churches in Australind to join us in praying for each other and our local community.  Everyone at St Nick’s is welcome to join us too.  It’s the first time we have done this, so it will be quite an adventure!

For the last three weeks of term (Nov 29, Dec 6th, Dec 13th),  we will be learning more about encountering God through silence by watching a 3-part documentary by the BBC called The Big Silence.  We would also like to invite any woman who would like to, to join us for this three week series.  More information about the Big Silence can be found on the notice board at the back of church

We are also getting together for a movie night on Friday November 24th.  We’ll be watching either The Shack, or The Case for Christ.
